What does pH mean?
pH is the measurement of the water's potential of hydrogen ions
Its value ranges from 0 to 14: 0 is highly acidic, 7 is neutral and 14 is highly alkaline.
Remember litmus paper tests in Chemistry lessons at school?
During the summer months, the acidity of the pool water will increase due to the effect of strong sunlight.
For optimum comfort for swimming and bathing, the pH of the water should be maintained between 7.2 and 7.4.
Below this level, the water is acidic and if above, heavier doses of disinfectant are required to keep the water safe and healthy and to prevent the algae.
To make life easier, an automatic pH dosing system alleviates the chore of having to manually manage pH levels.
