Air Source Heating & Solar Hot Water
During the last 5 years, the cost of electricity has risen sharply in Spain.
In January 2011, the State electricity price was increased by an additional 9.8%.
Not only will the cost of energy continue to escalate, but building codes passed by the Spanish Government in October 2008 state;-
“Solar energy is now compulsory for all new and renovated buildings as part of the Spain’s efforts to bring building rules up to date and curb the growing demand for energy”
Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
An Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) needs a small amount of electricity to drive a fan as well as a quiet, low vibration compressor. From the surrounding air it extracts large quantities of low-grade wasted, warm air and converts it using an exchanger and a fan into heat for heating and hot water. The installation of an Air Source Heat Pump is a perfect renewable energy option which offers significant savingson energy bills and is suitable for dometic or commercial use; particularly when hot water is needed around the clock.
Systems for domestic & commercial hot water, heating & cooling.
Our new range of reversible Air source heat pumps are now seen as a credible alternative to fossil fuelled boilers.
They work and will save you money!
Available as either a combined or split unit,
their ability to function as either the primary heat source or in combination with solar panels, Aerothermal energy will change the way we heat and cool our domestic or commercial spaces .
"Patrick has been working on a number of domestic and commercial projects using this technolygy.. (He´s a technical guy and is an electrical engineer and knows all about this stuff) so if you are interested, give him a call..he´ll happily talk to you and answer any questions you may have, free of charge!.. 00 34 664871133..)
There are some key benefits in using an ASHP - although a higher initial investment, the payback is far quicker than solar and it is more efficient...
- Performs 365 days per year..
- No need for sunlight; will work day and night, even in poor weather
- Performs well through prolonged periods of cloud and rain; solar may fail..
- Up to 400% efficiency at only 7 degrees Air temperature
- Shorter pay back period on initial investment
- Doesn´t need the sun to operate! Now there´s a thought!

Solar Hot Water
So how does Solar work?
Evacuated solar tubes heat up via solar collectors that embrace the powerful rays from the sun.
The solar controller manages a variable speed pump based on temperature output requirements.
The circulation pump distributes a special fluid through the hot solar collector and a heat exchanger in your hot water cylinder. The heat is then transferred to the cooler water in your cylinder.
- The system shuts down automatically when not in use, or when the collector temperature is lower than the cylinder.
- Your solar collector will efficiently store heat, even on cloudy days. When the controller detects useable heat it will automatically restart.
- You will then have unlimited hot water to use day or night.

So why should I install a Solar Water Heating system?
-
Reduces the cost of your energy bills by up to 70%.
-
Your savings will work harder by investing them in a solar hot water system; your typical return on investment (ROI) will be around 23% per annum.
-
Avoid spiralling energy costs now, and in the future.
-
Be independent of ‘non-negotiable’ energy utility providers.
-
Use your system to heat an array of applications; in addition to domestic hot water, you can heat your home using radiators or under floor heating or heat your swimming pool for year-round enjoyment.
-
A Solar Water System will increase the value and saleability of your home or business.
How much will it save?
Exact payback is very difficult to calculate as it is dependant on so many factors such as consumption, application and time of year. With our combi system the cost to heat your water can be vastly reduced as it can provide up to 70% of your hot water totally free of charge!
